It’s 110 degrees with humidity, and mosquitos are everywhere. The gnats have discovered the back of the house and the sun is relentless. The fridge is full of empty glass jelly jars and there’s nothing to eat but powdered sugar or tofu.
Swiss cheese, baby.
In the hallway, just beneath the pull-down attic stairs, wafts the scent of parched rafters left to bake for seventy years.
Cotton underpants, sitting at the computer all day. Export, export. Save as. Print.
